Predicted Beaufort values are sourced from weather service providers whereas Reported Beaufort are sourced from onboard anemometer values.
Reported Beaufort in 3- hourly report is an average value for that duration.
Both calculated Beaufort values are found to be correct.
The prediction uses both wind and wave height for deciding on the BF value, while ship reported BF is only based on wind.that could lead to a difference in prediction vs reported Beaufort.
We will be making a change to show Predicted Beaufort using wind parameters only along with current one from a third party source. Expected this change will cover the gap of large Beaufort difference.
